Located 60 kilometres north of Melbourne, Kilmore has a population of 7000 residents, it is the oldest inland town in Victoria by the combination of age and physical occupation.
The traditional owners of Kilmore and the Kilmore Plains are the Taungurong people, a part of the Kulin nation that inhabited a large portion of central Victoria including Port Phillip Bay and its surrounds.
